# How long does it take for payments to reflect in the system?

## When should I use this guide?

Consult this article whenever a customer or agent needs to know when a recent payment—by bank transfer, cheque, payment gateway, or UPI—will show up in the account.

## 1. Overview of reflection times

## 2. Bank transfer/cheque timeline

Payments are reflected in the system based on the payment method used:

### For payments received via bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS/IMPS) or cheque:

* Payments are manually uploaded by the accounts team twice a day during these time slots:
  * 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM
  * 06:00 PM – 06:30 PM
* Cheque clearing usually takes about 2 business days (T+2).
* Bank transfers like NEFT/RTGS can take from the same day up to 24 hours.
* IMPS payments are near real-time.
* After payment upload, an offline payment code is generated, which can be applied in the system to update the account and generate invoices.
* Overall, bank-transfer payments may take up to 24–48 hours to fully reflect and settle.

## 3. Online gateway / UPI timeline

For payments made via online payment gateways:

* Payments received via payment gateways are updated automatically in the system.
* Payments can take up to 24 hours to fully process and reflect in the system.
* In case of UPI payments, it may take up to 24 hours for the payment to reflect.
* If payment is not reflected immediately, check the payment status with the bank or payment provider.

## 4. When a payment does NOT reflect

If a payment is not reflected:

* Clients should verify with their bank if the amount was deducted.
* If the amount was deducted but not reflected, wait for 2–3 working days for the amount to be reflected in the bank account if bounced.
* If still not reflected after 2–3 working days, agents can raise a ticket with the accounts team with proof of payment.
