What if a user has left the company?
Delete a user in MyOperator
Quick answer — When a team member leaves your organisation, remove their access promptly to keep your account secure. Use Delete user to revoke access and remove the profile from MyOperator.
Before you start (prerequisites)
- Admin role required. Only admins can delete users.
- Reassign responsibilities first. If the user owns numbers, groups, or workflows, reassign them to another user to avoid interruptions.
Delete a user (step‑by‑step)
- Sign in to your MyOperator dashboard.
- In the left sidebar, go to Manage → Users.
- Search or scroll to find the user you want to remove.
- Click the Delete (🗑️) icon next to their name.
- Review the confirmation prompt, then click Confirm.

Result & how to verify
- You’ll see a confirmation message.
- The user disappears from Users.
- The user can no longer sign in, receive calls, or access your account.
Troubleshooting & edge cases
- You don’t see the Deletion option for Users → Your account likely isn’t an admin. Ask an admin to grant you admin rights or complete the deletion.
- Delete is disabled or shows an error. Common causes:
- You are not an admin.
- The user is tied to owned assets (numbers, groups, automations) that must be reassigned first.
- The user is the only account owner/admin. Transfer ownership or contact support@myoperator.com.
- SSO/SCIM in your organisation → Coordinate with your IT admin to disable the user at the identity provider as well. Depending on your setup, you may still need to delete the user in MyOperator.
- Billing seats/licensing → After deletion, review your plan to adjust seats if required.
Disable instead of delete
If you want to block access but keep the profile (for audit/history), request temporary deactivation:
- Email support@myoperator.com with the user’s full name and email, and specify the date/time to disable access.
Security & data retention
- Call records linked to the user remain intact for reporting and audit purposes.
- Deleting a user does not delete historical logs.
Example scenario
- “Ananya Sharma (Sales) left on 10 Aug. Reassigned her Sales group and DID to Rahul, then deleted her user. Call logs for Ananya still show in reports.”
