Campaign Audience Upload File Requirements (MyOperator)

When building a campaign audience in MyOperator, your upload file (Excel or CSV) must follow specific formatting rules. At minimum, it requires a Phone number column. Adding extra fields like Name or custom variables makes campaigns more personalized and seamless.

Optional Columns for Template Variables

If your chosen template includes placeholders (e.g., {{1}}, {{2}}, {{3}}), you must include matching column headers.

Example Template:

Hi {{1}}, your payment of{{2}} is due on {{3}}.

Excel Columns Needed:

  • Name → {{1}}
  • Amount → {{2}}
  • Due_Date → {{3}}

Formatting Rules

  • Phone numbers must be in international format → e.g., +91XXXXXXXXXX
  • Column headers must exactly match → Phone number, Name, or template-specific variables
  • Remove:
  • Special characters (e.g., dashes, brackets)
  • Extra spaces
  • Duplicate rows

Best Practices

  • Save your file as .CSV or .XLSX before upload.
  • Always download the Sample File from the campaign builder to avoid format mismatches.
  • Keep headers short, lowercase, and descriptive (name, amount, due_date).
  • Validate the file in Excel/Google Sheets before upload—use filters to spot missing or misformatted numbers.

Summary

  • Mandatory: Phone number column in international format.
  • Recommended: Name column for personalization and auto-save.
  • Optional: Extra columns for template variables (e.g., amount, date).
  • Pro Tip: Use the Sample File as your starting point to avoid upload errors.
