WhatsApp Business templates support two categories of buttons, each with specific functions and limits.
1. Call-to-Action (CTA) Buttons
CTA buttons let customers take external actions outside WhatsApp.
Types of CTA Buttons
- ๐ Phone Number Button
- Opens the phoneโs dialer with a pre-filled number
- Format:

- ๐ URL Button
- Opens a web page in the browser
- Limit: 1 Phone + 1 URL button per template (maximum of 2 CTA buttons total)
- Dynamic URLs (e.g.,
https://site.com/) may work only through API integrations โ check your BSPโs documentation.
2. Quick Reply Buttons
Quick Reply buttons let users respond inside WhatsApp with predefined options.
Key Rules
- Maximum 3 quick replies per template

Important Button Rules
- You can have either:
- Up to 2 CTA buttons (Phone + URL), or
